“Jazzy Jazz” Miyagi is a classically trained flutist that is known for infusing a classically trained polish to a diverse musical catalogue. Jasmine was born in Okinawa, Japan. She pursued her formal music education and training as a full Scholarship recipient from The New England Conservatory of Music and later studied at the Berklee School of Music. She continued her advancement under the tutelage of the Boston Pops and Boston Symphony Orchestra’s Piccoloist, Lois Schafer, conducted by Seiji Ozawa. Her other musical talents include classical guitar, alternative flutes, and the ancient Japanese Koto. Jasmin’s varied musical career includes her training as a studio musician for motion picture soundtracks and her affiliations with Miroslov Vitous, the founding member and Bassist for Weather Report, Manheim Steamroller, Herbie Mann, Chaka Khan, and Joe Sample. She continues to be a local favorite in Kansas City and has had the honor of being chosen to perform as a soloist for the Grand Opening of Kansas City's prestigious Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts.

Jazzy Jazz can be found performing at a wide variety of local Kansas City’s performance halls, including the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts, Nelson Art Museum, 18th & Vine, Green Lady Lounge and various jazz and blues music venues. Nationally, she has made acclaimed appearances at both the Carmel Jazz Fest and the Monterey Jazz Festival.
