"I have used a variety of piezo and piezo-internal mic pickups on my acoustic instruments, but have not been satisfied with sound quality. The Feather mandolin microphone attaches with no permanent modifications to my mandolin. The belt-mounted preamp provides important stress relief in case someone trips on the cable. You may lose your pants, but you won’t pull a chunk of spruce off your instrument! But the pleasant surprise is in the sound quality, which is far and away the most acoustically true that I have experienced from a pickup."
